2004 Freerepublic Obama thread

In prep work for the History of Freerepublic.com, I ran across this 2004 era Barack Obama thread. Let’s go through it and find out any similarities to 2010…

The Barack Obama-Alan Keyes Illinois Senate campaign was happening in 2004, here is FreeRepublic and Jim Robinson chatting about Obama, Alan Keyes (back when FR had a hardon for Keyes), and all things Freep:

Vanity: Alan Keyes for Senate
Aug 23, 2004 | Jim Robinson

I’ll make this short and sweet (kinda like this is your brain, this is your brain on crack – any questions?).

a) Alan Keyes is an America loving, Constitution loving, Liberty loving, pro-life ultra conservative. We’d be ^damned lucky to have him in the Senate if we could get him there.

b) Barack Obama is an America hating, pro-abortion socialist communist. It’ll be a dark day for America if he’s elected.

Any questions?

Yeah, how mad will you be if Barack is elected President? I guess we’ll find out…

We were surprised that Keyes got even one vote. (Not really)

To: Jim Robinson
Thanks for your post. While no one has actually made fun of me for suggesting that Mr. Keyes has a chance to win, I’m sure some were just being polite.

I think we may all be surprised. Alan Keyes is an excellent candidate, and he may well take the position away from the annointed liberal Obama.

Keyes showed Obama was electable. Thanks, Alan Keyes!

To: Jim Robinson
thanks for the help!Obama is a very smooth and dangerous fellow.
Even if Alan doesen’t win,he will show the people just what Obama is.

Obama….He is likely to run for president in 2008
I thought that he was a “naturalized” citizen, therefore not eligible to run for President.

FreeRepublic…almost too liberal for ApesForEvolution

To: Jim Robinson
God bless you Jim, you and yours, richly, and Go Alan Go!

There is great hope alive at Free Republic! Man…I was this (*) close to writing FRoff…I couldn’t believe how FAR left THE RIGHT supposedly has moved, however, it really hasn’t – the GOP is obviously a centrist Party now.

However, it’s an influx of Liberal Moderates into the GOP precipitating friction against the Reagan Republicans and “American Sovereignty and Constitutional Representation” Conservative movement that seems so extremely wrong at the wrong time .. the Conservatives that brought us the “Contract With America” .. a HUGE, CONSERVATIVE SUCCESS which really made the current WH/House/Senate Republican Leadership ‘monopoly’ a possibility IMO.

Thank you for this post. The GOP better come together, or, yes, I believe that in order for a Civil War to happen in America, the GOP would probably have to have one first, which America can’t afford right now. The tables are tilting precariously on a high fulcrom point and we MUST MOVE RIGHT as a country, BUT WHO WILL LEAD THAT DIRECTION? ?? Someone has to or it’s a continuous drift left, until we are SLAPPED with a Carter or a Kerry…Good LORD…

communist crypto-Muhammadan Obamaosama infanticider – the best Obama nicknames are the ones invented years ago!

To: Gelato
Thankfully Alan’s ‘single issue’ position is so much more appealing than the communist crypto-Muhammadan Obamaosama infanticider…no blood on Alan’s hands, lots on Obamaosama’s hands…dead children’s blood.

Period. And you’ll never hear from Obama again!

To: Jim Robinson
“Barack Obama is an America hating, pro-abortion socialist communist.”
I posted the exact same sentence (almost IIRC) a couple weeks ago on a thread in defense of Keyes. Jim Rob thanks for ‘coming out’ for Alan.

btw, for those here NOT from IL, Obama IS a communist – period. You can dress him up, send him to school and have him talk nice, but he’s still a commie!

Oh, and he’s no ‘rising star’ either. That’s leftist media tripe. Obama’s a 3rd rate back bench state Rep from a 6th rate Chicago south side district. And if the IL senate seat didn’t look like “a given” prior to the RAT convention, you’d have NEVER heard of him.

Obama is a Nazi who needs to get carpetbagged. This is in 2004!

To: Sabertooth; All; Jim Robinson; EternalVigilance; ApesForEvolution; TomasUSMC; unspun; JustPiper; …
Sabertooth, I love you, man. But we really need you on the right side of this one (just as you were on the right side of the Cal Recall).
To all: It’s really this simple. By virtue of the fact that Obama has voted to let babies who were accidentally born be murdered, and by virtue of the fact that Keyes is fighting to prevent such murder, Obama is actually LESS qualified to serve as the Senator from Illinois than Keyes is.

Here’s my greater good analogy: The allied forces had a right, in fact an obligation, to conquer and REPLACE THE LEADERSHIP OF –or engaged in a “carpetbagging” of sorts– the Nazis in Germany.

In like manner, Keyes has a right to try to conquer Obama.

Furthermore, the left has been hypocritical and therefore has undermined any argument they have against carpetbagging, WHETHER OR NOT Keyes has spoken against it.

In short, Keyes is observing a greater good than Federalism, by fightin Obama’s holocaust.

Attention Philosophers and freepers: See “Hierarchicalism”, a.k.a “Graded Absolutism”, a.k.a. “greater good” –Aquinas, etc. Please make yourself familiar with the doctrine before responding.

George Soros, Osama names, Manchurian Candidate, all from 2004, all the same crazy arguments. Nothing has changed except the volume of crazy, soon it will be over 11.

To: Jim Robinson
Osama Obama is funded by George Soros, the international financial manipulator, destroyer and looter of entire countries, promoter of “gay rights”, Christian-hater, Serb-hater, Israel hater, kigpin of the New World Order, and perhaps the most dangerous man in the world. Obama is nothing more than a Manchurian Candidate, and even liberals in Illinois should refuse to vote for him if they value American independence and freedom even a little bit!
Soros is also behind the Kerry-supporting “MoveOn” organization. So the same applies to Kerry as well!

Don’t let Soros take his “patented” method of destroying Balkan nations and apply it to America!!!!

TERROR BABIES!!!!

A US politician is seriously discussing this, and a US TV Newschannel is seriously discussing it instead of instantly calling it a giant pile of horse puke. But at least Rep. Louis Gohmert makes a great case….at how freaking crazy he is!

Beck makes sense for once in his life.

Teabaggers hate net neutrality

Here comes the movmentum!

Obama is in Madden 2011? Must be Obama Indoctrination! No one tell this guy about the Socks the Cat video game…

A couple pretended to be immigration and “deported” another woman, and are now arrested.

The US infrastructure is falling apart. All that infrastructure spending that got cut from the stimulus bill would have came in handy…

Dr. Orly Taitz Jr. Esq. PhD is appealing to the Supreme Court, again, and is about to get denied by every justice, again.

Cartoon of the Day:

Resistnet Chat longs for RAHOWA

So I was hanging out in Resistnet chat being awesome when suddenly Resistnet chat decided to go all racial holy war. You see, the posters on Resistnet long for the day they can shoot all the Mexicans and Blacks, because they’re crazy racists who are crazy. Especially dan taylor, who has been featured in many many many of our Wingnut Webs. And he gets no moderation or discipline by the Resistnet moderators at all. Because what he says must not be offensive to them! But don’t take my word for it, take the words of the Resistnet chatters themselves!

Blacks are gonna start something!
rn510.jpg

dan taylor says just machine gun those blacks!
rn65.jpg

dan taylor also thinks we don’t need Mexicans because we already have all those troublesome blacks!
rn71.jpg
rn81.jpg

all cultures are not equal – some get drunk and run over white people, while white people never get drunk and drive!
rn241.jpg
rn231.jpg

dan taylor is already at war
rn221.jpg

dan taylor thinks we could take over Mexico in two days, while suddenly someone brings up the Machete movie again
rn211.jpg

dan taylor is hoping beyond hope that Machete will make whites declare their mastery over all other races again
rn201.jpg

Mexicans are so easy to defeat a caveman could do it. Continue with someone suddenly getting scared that their lovely war will disrupt their medical supplies
rn191.jpg

help me please kill mexicans!
rn181.jpg

A Mexican ate my rabbit!
rn171.jpg

Brian Hill then goes all conspiracy theory!
rn251.jpg

If you go to Resistnet.com you can get recruited to the race war today! dan taylor is in chat all the time, and it’s obvious that no one is bothered by his call for racial holy war. I guess that means Resistnet is totally fine with it! Good to know!

Wingnut Web – Resistnet prepares to go to war (peacefully)

Boy was Resistnet mad when Arizona’s sb1070 was partially overturned by a federal judge. They got so made, they forgot they were supposed to be the peaceful resistance and just became the angry mob. Luckily, Politisink.com was there with our handy PrintScreen button and captured the action for all to see. Thrill as Real Patriots try to outdo each other for how eager they are to overthrow the country! It’s amazing, especially when the moderator tells them to stop yet doesn’t bother to delete or punish anyone and even joins in on parts of the discussions! That’s why Wingnut Web is here!

Resistnet starts off with a bang calling for the death of Senator Barbara Boxer because she’s proud of her job…
rn10.jpg

James Gragg then declares that if the Arizona Immigration Law isn’t left standing, it is WAR! He means it, he posted a terrible drawing!
rn11.jpg

Resistnet now allows you to say “wetbacks” with no penalty! Thanks, Resistnet!

Fluoride in the water and Chemtrails? I think I’m getting close to winning Conspiracy Theory Bingo!

  • Yahoo News has a guide to the latest Right Wing astroturf groups that they are dubbing the “Shadow GOP”. We’re gonna reproduce a relevant part in case this Yahoo News story disappears like others have in the past (not a conspiracy, their content just expires sometimes)

American Crossroads: Founded in March by Rove and Gillespie to counter ad spending from liberal outfits like MoveOn.org and labor unions, this 527 group says it plans to raise and spend upwards of $50 million before November. So far, the group is focusing on 11 key Senate races, including Nevada, where the group has run two ads attacking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. But Collegio says American Crossroads will begin targeting House races closer to Election Day. According to Internal Revenue Service records, the group has raised roughly $8.5 million so far — including $1 million from Dallas energy executive Trevor Rees-Jones.

Crossroads GPS: A spinoff of American Crossroads, this 501-c4 group can keep its donor list private — a major selling point for individuals and corporations who want to anonymously influence elections. While it won’t run ads, the group is picking up some of the pricey administrative tasks that the RNC has usually taken on, including building a database that allows them to microtarget voters in certain congressional districts with outreach specific to their interests.

American Action Network: Modeled in part after the liberal Center for American Progress, this 501-c4 group is headed up by former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman and managed day-to-day by Rob Collins, a former top aide to House Minority Whip Eric Cantor. Together with its sister group, the American Action Forum (see below), the outfit plans to be something of a GOP think tank, helping to craft the Republican message. But this side of the operation will focus more on advocating candidates than on policy development. A GOP source tells The Upshot the group is looking to spend as much as $25 million to influence the midterms. Already, the group has launched an ad against Charlie Crist, who quit the GOP to run as an independent in Florida’s Senate race. The group has just launched a $450,000 campaign trashing Democrat Paul Hodes in New Hampshire’s Senate race.

American Action Forum: An offshoot of the American Action Network, this group will focus more on formulating policy and helping GOP candidates deliver their message than on running ads attacking specific candidates. Fronted by Doug Holtz-Eakin, a former economic adviser to John McCain’s presidential campaign, AAF lists Coleman and former governors Jeb Bush and Tom Ridge as board members.

Resurgent Republic: Founded by Gillespie and several GOP pollsters last fall, this group aims to be the Republican equivalent of Democracy Corps, a polling and research group founded by Democratic pollster Stan Greenberg and former Clinton operative James Carville. The nonprofit group will try to improve GOP messaging through polling and research groups and will work directly with other Republican groups in the network.

Republican State Leadership Committee: This 527 group plans to spend at least $40 million to influence state elections, including local House and Senate races, ahead of next year’s planned redistricting debate. While Gillespie is the chairman, other advisers on board include former Rep. Tom Reynolds, who used to chair the House GOP campaign committee, and former RNC chair Mike Duncan (who is also working for American Crossroads).

Keep in mind the Center for American Progress was modeled after the Heritage Foundation. There are like a million conservative front groups so it is hard to keep track of them.

  • This is the most awesome expose of a Right Wing internet crank I have seen in a long time. Recent BigGovernment (Breitbart’s website) hire Kevin Pezzi spent his debut trashing Shirley Sherrod as a racist. Then Media Matters googled him. What they found is an amazing trail of internet crazy, wild claims, brutal racism, ginormous ego, sock puppets galore, sexual bragging obsession, and just plain insanity. Read the big report here and a side report detailing all the sock puppets and fake internet harem. Kevin Pezzi has a FreeRepublic.com account and if we have time we’ll do a search on it.
  • Botnets are messing with the stock market. But whose botnets? And why? Especially since they don’t seem to be doing anything.
This blog by the guy who found them keeps track of them and looks for a pattern.

  • Drain Clogs are short today because we’re trying to get a bigger article finished while still on lunch. Maybe we will…

Drain Clogs – 08-04-2010

If you’ve read The Wrecking Crew by Thomas Frank you will be familiar with the vast direct mail fundraising apparatus the Right has. Now, the modern Web 2.0 version has been operation for years, and Salon has exposed that like before most of the money goes to the firms and not the candidates.

Thousands of grassroots conservative donors around the country who believe they are contributing to the fight to reclaim Congress in the fall have actually poured millions of dollars into a group of political action committees whose primary function appears to be enriching a notorious Washington direct mail fundraising firm, Salon’s review of the groups’ FEC filings shows.

The PACs — Freedom’s Defense Fund, the Black Republican PAC, Veterans for Victory, and the Republican Member Senate Fund — are all based out of post office boxes in Washington and all have a treasurer in common: Scott Mackenzie, a campaign finance consultant at Base Connect, the direct mail firm. Formerly known as BMW Direct, Base Connect has long been controversial for its practice of raising large sums of money for long-shot conservative candidates, who in turn pay Base Connect as much as 80 or 90 percent of the money raised for its services.

This is just the Free Market in action, baby! Also the new Politisink Concerned Americans for an American America Patriot Freedom Eagle PAC is now seeking donations, we promise that we may eventually get around to giving money to a candidate.

Speaking of Right Wing nuts, the Washington Post has a neat article up about how Colonial Williamsburg has become sort of a Mecca for Wingnuts wanting to hear the founding fathers give rousing speeches. The Founding Fathers are played by actors, many of which aren’t into the crazy wingnut beat and are shooting down Glenn Beck talking points while in character. It rules.

Women are all about porn, and only church groups can save them!

The Iowa GOP wants to join the ranks of the other crazy state GOP groups, so they’ve decided to support the “original” 13th Amendment solely because they want to try to use it to strip Obama’s citizenship. At least they think Obama is a citizen…

In other citizenship news, Republicans love the Constitution except for every part of it that isn’t the 2nd Amendment. And now they want to toss the 14th Amendment because too many brown babies are being born. Oh, wait, it’s to “fight illegal immigration” aka too many brown babies are being born. The following Senators hate babies: Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Jon Kyl of Arizona, John McCain of Arizona, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, and Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

This stuff is so nuts even Lou Dobbs and Alan Keyes want out.

Prop 8 got overturned! Until the appeal…
but that means we got awesome Right Wing comments!

Please don’t forget the people of Lut who were engagad in the same indecent acts as these gays/lesbian doing in this modern era.

God punished them with 5 sentences :

1) Rain of stones fell on them
2) Upside down the place where this thing had been going
3) Their faces were burnt
4) There was a big voice which torn them down.
5) Gabreil again upside down their place .

No nation in the past was given that stern punishment as nation of Lut..

May God give us the righteous path, the path of success in this life & hereafter. Amen.

PEACE TO ALL.

We’re gonna get upside down the place here twice! Oddly enough, this person hid their profile…

Glenn Beck loves the white power…at least his Twitter did until caught!

Glenn Beck’s band of merry morons got a book pulled from a New Jersey library. Please call your local library and get Beck’s books banned. Or not, because we’re better than that.

Did you hear about the prison guard who killed a dude to steal his gun to use to overthrow the US government in the name of Right Wing Freedom? Well, now you have. Raymond Peake and fellow guard Thomas Tuso are in some trouble now, entirely because of the Federal Government is out to get them. And the murder. But mostly that the Federal Government is out to get them.

Apparently this happened when I wasn’t paying attention:

Despite the right saying it was a plant, it turns out it is a right wing dude who claims he didn’t know it was racist. Right.

Cats for Gold is the best site since the last best site!

We’re kicking it conspiracy old school with some modern twists! We got our good old fashioned Zionist conspiracy mixed with the Rothschilds, and sprinkle on some Rockfellers, the Fed, card games, Dark Knight imagery, and we got us a hearty stew of conspiracy theory junk! And Resistnet is kind enough to help us get to the bottom of the conspiracy with no one bothering to refute any part of it!

Resistnet Poster EricktheRed9 posts this junk from Henry Makow, and then adds his own crazy at the end.
