Talk About Islam Among Non-Muslims

A while ago I came across a website called Citizen Warrior who is a person out to educate the world about the evils of Islam. Unlike many of his (lets just make this person a man) compatriots in the war on Islam, Citizen Warrior promotes a more calm and rational hatred of Islam. That is why he started up the website http://talkaboutislamamongnonmuslims.blogspot.com/. The website has a worthy goal of “Here non-Muslims discuss the challenges of talking to our fellow non-Muslims about the unsettling nature of Islamic doctrine”. The whole content of the website (besides the articles he links back to his main site which include How to Stay Calm When Talking About Islam and When People Think You’re Nuts) is just a single blog post where people are supposed to post in the comments section about the trouble they have when talking to non-Muslims about Islam.

So lets see what advice people have to offer us:

There seems to be two basic categories of Jihad; war-like terrorism and taqiyya. Unfortunately, the terrorism is the most easily countered because people (with a brain) see it for what it is. All of the non-violent forms make it easy to deceive the slumbering, gullible public and I’m afraid there are too few of us that recognize the threat of jihad. Until the general public comes to understand that Islam is a government hiding behind a religious front that is totally incompatible with our constitutional form of government we are losing the war. Unfortunately our government controlled media, or is it media controlled government, continues to feed misinformation and politically correct crap.

Taqiyya is the practice of hiding one’s faith when under the threat of persecution, somehow that got twisted around in some peoples’ heads to mean that Muslims are going to hide their faith and infiltrate us (see Obama, Barack Hussain).

Salmon wants to let us know that you should read some books about Islam before spouting off about it. It is sad that needs to be said.

Salmon said…
First and most obvious, since Jihad has killed millions and threatens to kill us, we should take time to bone up on Islam–its history, doctrines and practices. Take the time to read some basic books. Then we will all be thoughtful strategists and not just shooting the breeze.

Our man Citizen Warrior chimes in to let people know to watch out to make sure you don’t get the same reputation as a Dutch politician who wants to ban the Qur’an, tax women wearing headscarfs, end immigration from Muslim countries and was banned from entering the UK for 9 months.

Finally Figured Out Islam: The same thing is happening to Geert Wilders. It’s crazy! He only showed Muslims speaking and acting, and showed quotes from the Quran about those actions, but HE is being charged with hate speech. If we can make this point clear and make it obvious how crazy it is, it would go a long way to ending getting over this first hurdle.

Today another Muslim was arrested for something or other. I can’t be bothered to provide details or anything but it totally happened. When are people going to learn that nebulous stories like that can’t happen?

Today another Muslim, in Chicago, was arrested for trying to blow up buildings, poison the water supply or cause other havoc. I cannot understand how any Muslim sympathizer fails to connect the dots – you don’t hear of any other group doing this type of stuff all over the world – because the Muslims are the only ones whose religious and politics takes them in that direction.

You see back in the day the Pope lied to people to kill people but Imams taught people to be nice to everyone. Then some stuff happened and somehow Christianity became very nice and nothing bad ever happened because of people interpreting the bible in a way that would incite violence, hate or discrimination. At the same time every Muslim started reading the Qur’an and they all realized simultaneously it was about killing every non-Muslim ever. Therefor Christianity is better than Islam.

The rebuttal about the crusades is common. Here is how I tackle it.

The Pope told Christians that their sins would be forgiven if they fought in the crusades, but war against infidels is not commanded by Christianity, nor are one’s sins forgiven this way. Noone had bibles in those days so they couldn’t check if the Pope’s declarations were based on the original scriptures. When Martin Luther finally got hold of one of the oldest Greek manuscripts, he translated it and found that salvation was ‘free’, not earnt, paid for, or granted by popes or priests. This started the reformation.

The opposite has occurred in Islam. Like Christians before the Reformation, muslims depended on the Imam to tell them what Islam was about. Mostly the imam would teach only the nice parts, except when war broke out would he instruct the soldiers about jihad. But lately, with increased literacy and availablity of Qurans, anyone can now read it for themselves in his or her language. So, when you scrape back Christianity to its raw state, you do not get the “crusades” anywhere in it. But when you do the same with Islam ie scrape it back to its pure form, the Quran, you get this …..

Commonsense13’s tactic in talking to non-Muslims about Islam is to be completely bat shit crazy.

This is an exchange between me and another member at another site. We “argue” all the time about Muslims and he defends their right to be protected under our Constitution without limit. On this site we are formed of military, LE, veterans and civilians who take the oath to uphold the constitution and protect the country against enemies both foreign and domestic. Part of our mission statement is to Reach, Teach and Inspire, also that under martial law we will not disarm civilians…
ME: So, let me see…we should only talk about what the Active Duty people want to talk about…would that be maybe the killing of their fellow soldiers at Ft. Hood by a Muslim and now wonder whenever they have to serve next to one where that persons allegiences really are? But ya see, they can’t say that out loud on a regular military forum can they? They could talk about it here under an assumed name and info can be shared. Or we can only talk about what is important to LE? Well that would probably be about the illegal Mexicans crossing over our southern borders by the thousands and terrorizing our cities, bringing in drugs, killing, taking resources such as health care, welfare and educational benefits that should be going to American citizens and legal immigrants.
Or should we be talking about what is important to DOJ personnel or all the new czars appointed by this administration who is jamming socialism down our throats? Will IRS agents be included in this group when they are required to garnish your wages because you didn’t buy the governmental healthcare which clearly goes against the Commerce Clause? Are we actively recruiting IRS agents? They can seize our property. Also against the Constitution.
So who decides what topics are valid for who to talk about? Are we to assume that all of these “special” members are going to blindly follow OK’s mission and go against their sworn duty just because of this membership when they do not have the facts of what is really going on at any given moment? Do they read every piece of news out there to keep up to date? Probably not. Who is to say that in something like Katrina there isn’t an area that there is a bunch of gangbangers shooting at the police and military and they are given orders to go in and disarm them…do you think that because of the OK oath they are going to say NO? If they did, what use are they? If there is a muslim training center and LE is told to go in and disarm them, are they going to say NO because no one wants to believe that there are bad muslims here and don’t want to hurt their feelings? Shouldn’t we as a group discuss what is out there, how to handle things, share info, figure out how to bring this country back as close to the Constitution and honest politics in order to support our military and LE to make their jobs easier and keep all of us safer and at the same time prepared if TSHTF? Im sure our LE and military could give us good information on what to do, what we should be doing…for a natural disaster or a political one. Those of you who don’t want to hear it or join in, just don’t…go to another thread but stop calling people names like bigots, racists and ignorant.

This was posted by an anonymous person, I gonna guess it was Glenn Beck.

9-11, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ISLAM

So I saw a poll the other day and saw that 30% of people were just uneducated about Islam and I thought “There is 30% I can willfully mislead and lie to about Islam”.

Citizen Warrior said…
I rather appreciated your meandering, Traeh. I have felt the same way about wanting to learn more. There always seems to be more to learn before I really feel like an expert. And yet, most people don’t even know the most rudimentary things about Islam. Someone asked me the other day, “Where is Islam?” as if it was a country or region (although that depth of ignorance is rare).

But even still, most people don’t know much about Islam. I just read a poll of Americans that said 24 percent thought Islam was a peaceful religion and 30 percent were unsure. When I read that, I thought, “That means 30 percent only need a little more information to tip them to our side.”

And now we get a look into the mind of Citizen Warrior. I don’t know which I like more: how he casts himself in a fake epic struggle in a larger war of Good and Evil or how he talks about the “Joys of war”.

Citizen Warrior said…
Traeh, your last big paragraph really resonated with me. It is indeed strange being involved in a sort of secret underground war against an ideology. And it IS negative. Find a loving and positive spin? That’s a tough one, but maybe not as tough as it seems. I usually refer to my work as “saving the free world” when I’m talking to my friends. They ask me what I did over the weekend. I often answer something like, “Same old thing, trying to save the free world.” It is somewhat self-mocking, but it is also true and they know it’s true, and many of them admire me for it.

When I am getting off work, someone might ask me, “What are you up to tonight?” I sometimes answer, “I’ll be fighting to save the free world, what about you?”

I think of the role as extremely positive myself, although the content of the task is admittedly sometimes negative.

In my own assessment, I cast our work in an heroic light. All throughout history, the fight has continued, good against evil, in its many forms. And most of my favorite movies depict some sort of battle between good and evil. Movies are a kind of symbolic value-system reinforcement.

What makes movies like Lord of the Rings epic is, I think, its universal message: That the forces of darkness are always gathering and that people of good heart and good intentions are always fighting to keep the good side winning.

As far as I can tell, it will never stop, so we might as well hunker down and enjoy the fight. And I really do think there is something to ENJOY about this fight. I love the feeling of meaningfulness and purposefulness this work bestows upon its warriors.

Someone at work was talking about 2012 and “the end of the world” the other day and many people joined in the discussion. My feeling was that they all lacked a sense of meaning, and many of them had a secret wish that something world-shaking WOULD happen in 2012 because they have nothing historically meaningful in their lives, nothing that gives them a sense of significance. I think people NEED that to really feel fully alive. And I didn’t feel I was missing that element in the slightest and I didn’t share their secret wish.

I feel I am engaged in a life-or-death battle for the fate of the planet, and I have met some magnificient people in this battle, good people who have become my friends and fellow warriors.

This is not a sure thing. It is not certain how things will turn out. There are many people AGAINST what we’re doing. There are secret forces fighting to subvert the freedoms we our predecessors fought so hard to win. This is really and truly a BATTLE, a fight for the playing field, a war of historical significance. And we must win.

The mainstream media focuses on the horror of war, and the psychological scars of war, but there is also the “joy of war,” if you could call it that — the feeling during a war that what is happening is more real and more significant and more urgent and more important than anything that happens in “normal” life. I’ve talked to WW2 vets who have told me that during the war they were more alive than any time since then, and that the bonds they formed under those circumstances withstood the test of time better than any other bonds.

Now I’M meandering. What I meant to say, though, is that although this sometimes feels like a “negative” thing we’re doing, in some ways that’s what makes the fight so important, so significant, and so ultimately satisfying. And that’s positive.

If the Muslim religion is tied to Islam and Sharia, then we definately need to change the “definition” of Religion in the US constitution. If the Muslim religion is tied to Islam and Sharia, then we definately need to change the “definition” of Religion in the US constitution. If the Muslim religion is tied to Islam and Sharia, then we definately need to change the “definition” of Religion in the US constitution

If the Muslim religion is tied to Islam and Sharia, then we definately need to change the “definition” of Religion in the US constitution. To say that Religion is a faith that teaches love and forgivenes and is not a threat to other religions. Once that is stablished. Then we can review the koran (And any other religions), and enforce US Muslims in Mosques to edit verses in the Koran(the teachings) that tie the Muslim faith (koran)with a Law (sharia) that teaches intolerance and killing of anyone who does not believe in the Muslim faith. Only until the Koran is revised (or abrogated as they say), it cannot coexist with different religions. Keep in mind Sharia are “hadiths”, laws that were written not by the prophet Muhammad, but by followers.

Once we change the constitution to make Islam not a religion we can force them to edit their holy book.

So please, next time you are talking to a non-Muslim about Islam keep the previous posts in mind and work their ideas and lessons into your conversation as needed.

Rules for Kickin’ Ass

Rules for Kickin’ Ass

Rules for the Non-Military

Make sure you read #13

Dear Civilians, ‘We know that the current state
of affairs in our great nation has many civilians up in arms and
excited to join the military.

For those of you who can’t join, you can still lend a hand.
Here are a few of the areas where we would like your assistance:

1. The next time you see any adults talking (or wearing a hat)
during the playing of the National Anthem –
kick their ass.

2. When you witness, firsthand, someone burning
the American Flag in protest – kick their ass.

3. Regardless of the rank they held while they served, pay
the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone
doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how
these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every
second.

Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made
to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while a disabled
veteran kicks their ass.

4. If you were never in the military, DO NOT pretend that you were.
Wearing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) or Jungle Fatigues, telling
Others that you used to be ‘Special Forces’.

Collecting GI Joe memorabilia, might have been okay when you were
seven years old, now, it will only make you look stupid and get your
ass kicked.

5. Next time you come across an *Air Force*
member, do not ask them, ‘Do you fly a jet?’ Not everyone in the
Air Force is a pilot. Such ignorance deserves an ass-kicking
(children are exempt).

6. If you witness someone calling the
Coast Guard ‘non-military’,
inform them of their mistake –
and kick their ass.

7. Next time Old Glory (the US flag) prances
by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay
homage to her by placing your hand over your heart.
Quietly thank the military member or veteran lucky enough to be
carrying her – of course, failure to do either of those could
earn you a severe ass-kicking.

9. ‘Your mama wears combat boots’ never made sense to me –
stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely be a vet and
therefore would kick your ass!

10. ‘Flyboy’ (*Air Force*), ‘Jarhead’ (*Marines*), ‘Grunt’ (*Army*),
‘Squid’ (*Navy*), ‘Puddle Jumpers’(*Coast Guard*), etc., are terms of
endearment we use describing each other. Unless you are a service
member or vet, you have not earned the right to use them. Using them
could get your ass kicked.

11. Last, but not least, whether or not you become a member of the
military, support our troops and their families.
Every Thanksgiving and religious holiday that you enjoy
with family and friends, please remember that there are literally
thousands of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen far from home
wishing they could be with their families. Thank God for our military and
the sacrifices they make every day. Without them, our Country would get
it’s ass kicked.

12. It’s the Veteran, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of
the press.

It’s the Veteran, not the poet, who has given
us the freedom of speech.

It’s the Veteran, not the community
organizer, who gives us the freedom
to demonstrate.

It’s the Military who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the
flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester
to burn the flag.

AND ONE MORE:

13. If you ever see anyone singing the national anthem in Spanish –
KICK THEIR ASS.

ONE LAST THING:
If you got this email and
didn’t pass it on – guess what – you deserve
to get your ass kicked!

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF
THE BRAVE! IN GOD WE TRUST

Tea Party and Joe the Plumber declare War on Puppies

Yes, you read that right! The Missouri Tea Party groups, Joe the Plumber, and a whole host of conservative douche-gobblers have all come out against a law that would stop puppy mills in Missouri. The War on Puppies stance from the Teabagger groups is gobsmackingly dumb, but not as dumb as some of the quotes from the various nutjobs. Be warned that this article will eventually have quotes about abused dogs at some of the puppy mills run by some of the people orchestrating the War on Puppies.

Proposition B (or the “Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act”) in on the Missouri Ballot this November and is intended to stomp out 3000 puppy mills in Missouri, which is 30% of puppy mills nationwide. It is supported by Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and practically every animal rights organization in the country.

Who would declare war on me???

Evil bastards Alliance For Truth (we are fair and balanced here!) take exception to the law, claiming the HSUS has a “radical agenda” and is “misleading the public with its intentions on Prop B. The society seeks only to raise the cost of breeding dogs, making it ever-more difficult for middle-class American families to be dog-owners.” This is the kind of arguments usually used against PeTA and Cass Sunstein, but as HSUS isn’t a bunch of wackos, it doesn’t play well here.

Anita Andrews from Alliance For Truth told TPM that it’s a “deceptive, lying bill” that is “trying to purposefully get rid of the breeders.” The state of Missouri, she said, has been given a bad rap as “the puppy mill capitol” of the U.S. but “in truth we have the best ribbon breeders in the country.” And, Andrews said, the state already has anti-cruelty laws on the books.

“They don’t like animals,” she said of the Humane Society of the United States.

Yes, “They don’t like animals” – This is real life, folks, not The Onion. Someone actually said this.

Subscription-based firefighters watch as family house burns to the ground

Don’t pay your dues, lose everything. Welcome to Libertopia. WPSD6 via Thinkprogress:

Each year, Obion County residents must pay $75 if they want fire protection from the city of South Fulton. But the Cranicks did not pay.
The mayor said if homeowners don’t pay, they’re out of luck.
This fire went on for hours because garden hoses just wouldn’t put it out. It wasn’t until that fire spread to a neighbor’s property, that anyone would respond.
Turns out, the neighbor had paid the fee.
“I thought they’d come out and put it out, even if you hadn’t paid your $75, but I was wrong,” said Gene Cranick.
Because of that, not much is left of Cranick’s house.
They called 911 several times, and initially the South Fulton Fire Department would not come.
The Cranicks told 9-1-1 they would pay firefighters, whatever the cost, to stop the fire before it spread to their house.
“When I called I told them that. My grandson had already called there and he thought that when I got here I could get something done, I couldn’t,” Paulette Cranick.
It was only when a neighbor’s field caught fire, a neighbor who had paid the county fire service fee, that the department responded. Gene Cranick asked the fire chief to make an exception and save his home, the chief wouldn’t.
We asked him why.
He wouldn’t talk to us and called police to have us escorted off the property. Police never came but firefighters quickly left the scene. Meanwhile, the Cranick home continued to burn.

To give you an idea of just how intense the feelings got in this situation, soon after the fire department returned to the station, the Obion County Sheriff’s Department said someone went there and assaulted one of the firefighters.

Repent Amarillo – Faith or Fear‏

So I’m on a bunch of email lists keeping track of various hate groups, and thus every morning my inbox looks like the Legion of Doom. Today’s awful email comes from the mailing list from Repent Amarillo, probably best known for getting punked by the “Dude, you have no Koran” guy. So, someone shares their tale of Christian love:

Pastor David, friends and eternal family in the Lord Jesus Christ:

I’d like to take this time to expand upon the words below – I’m compelled to do so by the Holy Spirit, and I hope these words find you well. As it is written:

“I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” Amen. Never before in our history has Christianity faced such a tremendous threat, and it’s a multi-faced threat that surrounds us on virtually every side: secular atheism, abortionists, socialism, pornography, homosexuality, so-called “same sex marriage,” fiscal irresponsibility, immorality, “gay rights,” Jewish Zionism, and certainly not least, the terror of Islam. Jesus would be red with rage if he were here now.

I’d like to share something that happened a few weeks ago with you all in hopes that my courage – or rather, the courage the LORD instilled in me – might inspire you. I was camping with a friend of mine (former friend now) whom I’d known since grade school. We’d been drinking a little, which the Lord himself did at meals, so this isn’t necessarily a big deal in my eyes, but if it’s out of line, please witness to me. Anyway, he admitted to me that he was a homosexual. And you know what I did? I punched him in the throat. He actually admitted to me that he was a homosexual pervert and had been lying to me all these years. I kicked him out of the tent, which was mine anyway, and forced him to sleep outside. He started crying, saying this shit like “I thought you were my friend” and “please don’t do this, I thought you’d understand” and “please don’t cut me off” and whatnot. I screamed at him to shut the HELL up, because I wasn’t going to have any of his homosexual lies. What was next – was he going to tell me he was a fucking Muslim? Wouldn’t have surprised me at that point, I tell you what. Can I get an amen?

After that, he sent a bunch of emails… shit like “you’re the only one I thought would understand” and “please talk to me, I don’t know what to do, I’m so lost” and “I’m going to kill myself.” Well guess what? HE PROBABLY SHOULD. The Bible is very explicit in terms of homosexuality, and it’s a choice HE MADE. He chose to be an abomination; he chose the lie. Amen.

Friends, that took courage. It was no easy decision, until I prayed about it and the Spirit told me what to do. Just as what Pastor David describes below takes courage. Burning a Koran is NOT going to make you very popular, but in whose eyes does popularity matter? Man’s eyes, or the LORD’s eyes? Amen.

As it is written, the LORD will burn homosexuals and Muslims with Holy Fire in the end days. Let us prophecy by first burning the abomination of their book for all the world to see, as a precursor to what the LORD has in store for them. For it is written “They shall be burned with fire, for strong is the LORD God who judges them.”

Yours in the name of the Most Holy, today, tomorrow and forever,

Gerry Tarrant

I hope gay people and Muslims are bothered

When some event or some law affects a personal culture or group you identify with (maybe you’re Asian or a senior citizen or a Unicycle enthusiast), you’d probably tend to pay very close attention to that development until its final conclusion. Women most likely felt that way when they fought for their right to vote, African-Americans probably shared a similar sentiment when they campaigned to be recognized as more than 3/5ths of a person.

Back then as it is now, special interests were the strongest voices in these kinds of fights for equality and rights. Southern plantation owners didn’t want to change their way of life and stop making their livings off the backs of slaves, so the Civil War broke out. Women didn’t want to be confined to the house anymore so they took to the streets and shouted a lot and generally bothered all the men, so we gave them the right to vote in 1920 (and then they all took booze away from us during Prohibition, c’mon you hotsy-totsy dames!). If you think about it, pretty much every major cultural group represented here in the United States, with the exception of white people and mainstream Christians of course, had to wage some kind of political fight (and in many cases deadly campaigns) in order to gain their official “acceptance” (uneasy as it may be) into the whole of US society.

In the grand scheme of the globe, the vast majority of minority groups living in this country get treated pretty decently compared to how they might get treated in, say, a country like Iran or in Malawi where they just put you on trial or send you to a witch doctor if you identify as homosexual or other “social deviation”. Right now in one of the most, if not the most free nation in the world, we’re going through one more of these periods of transition in America, from being assholes to a specific group of minorities into a society that accepts them for their differences even if we disagree with their choice of religion or her insistence that your wife should be allowed to get a job outside the household (ha!, women…).

Funny that many of those special interests and influences that kept down other minorities for so long are, in many ways, the same exact people who are now speaking out on Islam as a religion of terrorism, a people who don’t deserve to be considered Americans, or compare same-sex marriage and allowing gays to openly serve in the military to bestiality.

At the moment LITERALLY the only thing that stands in the way of gay people getting recognized as full 100% bona fide acceptable human beings (it’s the law now, buddy!) are one thing and that one thing is Republicans. They’ve actually stood in the way of many things since the elections in 2008, actually just sat there and blocked not even willing to negotiate at all, one iota, no-thank-you-sir not touching that issue one bit. Healthcare Reform, unemployment benefit extensions, immigration reform, economic assistances and tax breaks for small businesses and people who had their houses foreclosed on by the banks, these are just a few of the vast ocean of things Republicans are just flat out shutting down time and time again, right in our faces.

Our entire government and American way of life is built upon having two opposing sides in charge that work out their differences and come to Congressional compromises that push things forward in the country. A healthy country cannot exist if one party has resigned itself to whining and crying on the floor of the Senate and refuses to work with their colleagues.  These same exact politicians are the ones who pander to that same exact base of Americans who are willing to “vigilantly” stand up and burn Korans at the end of Ramadan and think that homosexuals are abominations of Satan (and think Sarah Palin is a holy saint who God has anointed to be the next president of the United States!).

And I hope it really bothers all of these people.

I hope it bothers them enough to want to vote on November 2nd in their local elections. I hope it bothers them enough that they go and register to vote RIGHT NOW and insist to all of their friends and close family that THEY get registered to and cast their ballots in these upcoming elections.

The powers that be are betting on the lethargy and apathy of most people your age, especially college students and people too busy playing Farmville to move from their computer chairs, but the only way to try and prevent the next two years from REALLY sucking balls is by taking 10 minutes to go down to your local polling place on election Tuesday and make your voice heard (whether you’re voting for the idiot or the good guy, it’s your right to cast a dumb vote!).

You think the break down in serious people working in government to get things done is at a bad place now think of the utter deadlock that’ll occur when Democrats lose 10+ seats in the Congress and the new Republican majority wants to ban Muslims from owning property in any part of Manhattan or wants to pass an economic reform in the guise of more tax breaks for the wealthiest 5% of society.

And not only will atrociously unqualified and down-right unelectable candidates like Christine O’Donnell and Meg Whitman and Sharon Angle and Carl Paladino and Rand Paul get elected to important positions of government, but their wingnut supporters will celebrate these victories as a sign from on high that this kind of backwards, fire-brand, do nothing but speaking really loud type of government is the way God wants things to be in 2012. If there is one thing the Republican/Tea Party base is really good at is it believing really strongly in a cause (religious or political) and voting during election cycles (OK, two things then).

SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR REGISTER TO VOTE AND MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR TUESDAY NOVEMBER 2ND 2010 AND VOTE! Kids these days…

[Ed. note: Rock The Vote seems to be the only major organization involved in voter registration these days, unfortunately, but your local DMV and Post Office are other places you can start your magical journey into the wondrous realm of registering to vote]

Wingnut Web – Resistnet’s 9-11 Crocodile Tears and RaHoWa Fever

Wake up in the morning feeling like P-Diddy, until I get an email from Darla D! Resistnet.com ruins everything. It seems that Darla Dawald is using 9-11 as a chance to act all sad that Resistnet.com, home to racist hatemongers, has been taken over by racist hatemongers! It’s ironic! I had the brew she had the chronic, which is what Darla must be smoking to have not noticed the many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many many racism and hate incidents we’ve spotted there. Just check out our archives here and back at the TarsTarkas.NET Blog!

But here’s her email…

Disappointment from Darla

Dear Patriots:

I write this letter to you this morning with a heavy heart. As I sit and look out my hotel window on Ground Zero and as I listen to the bagpipes play patriotic music many people are walking around Ground Zero paying their respects and keeping their promise that we will not forget.

I have to admit though, that in the midst of this atmosphere I have received reports from our admins that many people have basically been openly breaking our No Tolerance Policy, spewing hate, and working against everything we are attempting to do. I completely understand the anger toward the Islamic terrorists that brought down the towers and killed so many 9 years ago today. What I do NOT understand is why you will not follow our guidelines that the Constitution has afforded us as a private business. Your right to speech is guaranteed to you toward your government….that’s it. The 1st amendment does not give the right to any individual to infringe on their rights as a privately owned business or organization.

We appreciate so many of our members those who have attempted to reason with the individuals determined to argue, demean, incite violence, and infringe upon our rights. In my absence I have instructed the admins to issue warnings, shut down these discussions that have been out of control, and suspend those who will not listen to our warnings. Apparently, this is still an issue. So it is with great sadness that I must write this letter and inform you that if you break the rules we will not warn you, we will simply ban your account. We will not tolerate a mutiny and we will enforce our policies.

It may not be popular but it is necessary. We must protect the integrity of this site and the members who regularly abide by our terms of service.

Today is a reminder of the tragedy we have experienced at the hands of terrorists, let us not fight one another.

God Bless the families of victims and all Americans affected by this date.

Darla

Well, I’m sure Resistnet couldn’t be so full of racism before 9-11 that it makes this entire email laughable….let’s check!

“Define “racist”.

I’m starting to believe that “racist” is the new “n” word for anyone who does not agree with blacks and I am deeply offended. Thus, I will start using the word nigger until “they” stop using the word “racist”.

Calling their bluff

It’s really surprising to me that this Muslim cultural center a few blocks away from Ground Zero is still an issue in the media and in the political realms. The project was already unanimously approved by the only people who are authorized to make the decision in New York City, the build commission. It already has found Mayor Bloomberg’s blessing, much of the country believes that the First Amendment deserves to be upheld to American citizens in every aspect it provides, even President Obama commented on the controversy last week. Well, that is to say that he isn’t standing so firmly on his endorsement of the most basic constitutional protections, but any critically thinking person who truly believes in the wisdom of the Founding Fathers and the tenants our nation was built on would agree that it is disgusting that this group of religious believers has been so loudly discriminated against by so many.

The logical conclusion of this debate however, as it has been with almost every issue the Right has brought up in the last year and a half, comes down to siding with an ideology in the Republican mind frame that states that it’s OK to say “fuck you” to a group or an organization or people of a certain ethnicity if those peoples’ values or skin color don’t match that of the Conservative mainstream. The debate gets dressed up in fancy language on television or gets blown so out of proportion you really can’t take the talking heads seriously anymore, but if you were to draw a line way down to the Right’s ultimate conclusion on issues like immigration, healthcare for poor people, the right for a seemingly oppressed minority to practice their faith freely, they would rather entourn/deport/exile/kick out/let die/or possibly, in certain people’s cases, kill with their bare hands than be forced to live another second with these Mexicans, Muslims, Black Panthers, Terrorist Baby rearers, Homos, and other people they flat out don’t like.

You have to let the other side’s words speak for themselves with this mid-term election coming up and with the 2012 election not to far in the distance (my bet is on the media starting serious coverage of the 2012 race the day after the midterm elections are over, by the way). They will try to make their points sound educated and responsible with lots of fancy opinion poll numbers and “facts” about religion and border crossing and so forth in a debate, but since debates are no longer fought over reason or compromise and instead turn straight to emotional appeals, the job of a counterpoint to a Conservative these days is to draw out the other side’s blatant disregard for common decency, law, and humanity.

Where else does a policy of “we can’t have these extra 20 million illegal immigrants in our country anymore taking our jobs” ultimately lead to anyway, or a policy of “we can’t have these Muslims building a YMCA in midtown Manhattan because they creep us out”? Pundits and politicians on the Right are always so vocal about letting us ask them for answers. If you’d just *let* us take the reigns on Healthcare Reform we’ll deliver a solid solution. If the Republicans weren’t the minority party we would have figured out this immigration situation already.

What happened when we let the Republicans circle the wagons in order to produce their clearly laid out plan for Healthcare Reform? We got a 14 page document that certainly has words written on the page, but like the Republican’s current savior-in-Chief Sarah Palin, the long winded positive sounding rhetoric is just political busytalk with no actual figures or actionable solutions for the problem at hand. If this is the best they can come up with we might as well let the Right embarrass themselves by trying to submit the laws they’d really deep down want to pass.

Like laws to strip the Constitution of the 14th Amendment, or bills to cut taxes for the wealthiest people in the nation while we scramble to try and find money to pay off our country’s debts with, or laws that would provide medical care to every person in America, just without the ability get the proper treatment in the event of becoming unhealthy, or laws that ban homosexuals from openly serving in the military, and for that matter, ban them from existing in general society all together!

At the end of the day Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, the Tea Party, that crazy lady from Long-Island who wears too much make-up and doesn’t want a Muslim cultural center going up in NYC, they are all basing policy they’d like to see be law off of their value judgement against another human being. There’s no problem with holding an opinion like that (besides how crass it is), we have the First Amendment for a reason and they damn well better be thankful for that, but there is a problem with coaxing the public opinion and making them believe that their opinions are valid because “that’s what the Founding Fathers would have wanted” or “that’s not what the Constitution really means” or some other fantasy world conclusion that would serve to justify their unfounded opinions. Just don’t use that logic for problem solving guys, you’re bothering the smart politicians in the room.

Barack Obama or the Democrats or any other element that identifies with thinking and writing good policy over resorting to faith-based arguments and screaming and yelling at Anderson Cooper over “Terror Babies”, these people should not need to back down off of their arguments just because there’s a contingent of voters out there who are crazy and would probably vote for Rand Paul for president and don’t like Latinos, Muslims, African-Americans, single mothers, or the poor in the first place. Let them rage all over the airwaves for as long as they want, spouting off opinions that make no sense, as long as this yelling and screaming and bawling and crying continues to never have a place in the final legislation of a real law, let them flounder in dust. Oh, and remember to remind voters and the public about this fact during the election season. The American public needs this certain kind of educational experience before 2012 and Sarah Palin is eligible to be voted for as a presidential candidate.
